People often have two o rmore needs working in parallel. But, the
one need that deminates all of us is the `nneed for approval`. We seek
approval by looking god. Working har, having a beautiful home,
bringing up sucessful children and so on. We depend on `others` to give
 us our sense of our self worth. This desire arises either due to lack of
positive reinforcement as a child or a sense of rejection or neglect in the
early years. In order to fulfull the need to `fit in`, people get profesional
degrees and try to gain material success, fame and  money. Some resort to
slandering others in a bid to get approval.
Matrial objects become crutches and we seem to lose our baility to
live without them. There is such a high emotional attchemet to one`s
possessions that a feeling of helplessness creeps in once they are gone.
